The Great Artist Market!

My first Artist Market Day! ************************************************

Mark your calendars for next weekend! Myself and my Shady Ladies are going to be making our first Artist Market Day debut! And it's going to be a GREAT one too! "The Great Artist Markets" Felons Barrel Hall (Howard Smith Wharves) SAT 21st of OCT 8am - 3pm https://www.instagram.com/thegreatartistmarket/ TGAM will feature over 50 local artists, ceramicists, designers and more. Discover a room full of bespoke and mindfully made items. Family-friendly with food, street art, live art & entertainment throughout the day! And Alcohomahole! (Hey, it's at a brewery!) Come and meet me in person...and my Shady Ladies! Who knows, you might discover your new lamp soulmate! The Shady Ladies are 'light' hearted with a side of mysterious side eye. Not your ordinary lamp, each ceramic lady is unique, hand painted, and decorated individually with hand etched sgraffito to light up your life. I'm excited to be participating in my first artist market and to engage with other creatives (the line up has some of Brisbane's most colourful artist celebrities!) I'm looking forward to meeting people who haven't seen my work before. Up until now, I've sold my Shadies online through Instagram! And I've been so lucky each small batch drop has sold out each time! Thanks to everyone that's bought one so far!!! Being an artist can be an isolating one...so to see so many in the one room is going to be an explosion of colour and inspiration. I personally created my Shady Lady Lamps at home at nights to balance the difficult few years of advocating and caring for my Dear Dad who passed away from Dementia last July. I continued isolating after covid isolations stopped to stay safe to be able to care for Dad. Making the ladies, enabled me to make a small income and keep my mind focussed on something creative while experiencing intense grief of losing Dad. 💗 To be bringing them to the public next weekend will feel surreal and in another way, a way to honour Dad, as each were made with such love, keeping me positive while life was so hard. Each and every one of them is very special to me! 💗 The Great Artist Market promises to be a vibrant tapestry of creativity, You can ask questions, gain insights into artists' creative process, and maybe even commission custom pieces. It's an opportunity to connect with artists in a way you won't find anywhere else. I hope to see you there!!!
